Thanksgiving is the only time of the year that the rice cooker goes unused at my house.
All the other days, it supplies us with an abundant amount of rice to eat with our Sinigang sa Bayabas, Fried Tilapia with tomatoes and bagoong, and Longaniza and eggs for various mornings.
But even though there was no rice or adobo present at this year’s Thanksgiving table,
you can bet your ass there was a lot of magic micing and dancing.
So here it is: my thankful list in no particular order.
I am thankful for… beautiful, gut hurting moments. Moments like these are nothing a world class photographer can capture. In my opinion, this is what people refer to when they say that you “just had to be there”. After all the doubts and worries, It’s times like these that I realize that I am exactly where I was meant to be.
I am thankful for… real teeth and people to share the holidays with ;) Pictured above are the two women that my aunts look after. This year, my family invited them to Thanksgiving lunch since their children neglected to spend the holidays with them. But in our family, the more the merrier.
I am thankful for… amazing aunts and uncles. Thank God my grandparents got it on during their more youthful days. I’m blessed to have these wonderful people in my life who have all played a huge part in raising me. They’ve stepped up to the plate in times of need, trouble, and pain. And for that, I will be forever in their debt. (figuratively).
I am thankful for… cousins. I cant say this enough but I’ve got the best group of cousins in the entire world. Both blood and not blood related, my cousins mean everything to me and there is nothing in this world that would make me wish harm on them. Nothing.
I am thankful for… god-like grandparents, both alive and those who’ve passed on. They not only serve as a rough reminder of what you will look like when you get older, but they remind me of the true value of love and sacrifice.

I am thankful for… my mom. We have our rough patches every now and then, but my mom has always been my number one fan. I seem to forget how much she’s gone through since she’s so good at keeping composure. But contrary to popular belief, I would not trade her for anything in the world.
(Mom, please take this into account as you consider the amount of money you will be spending for my birthday and christmas gifts.)
;)

In summary,
I am thankful for…
a strong roof over my head
and an even stronger foundation to build upon.
So as we turn our radios to 103.5 for Christmas tunes
and ring in the holidays,
remind yourself of this…
“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYBODY!

Ugh, I’ve been super lazy these past couple of weeks.
So this post is almost as late as your last period.
20 billion years ago, Sahar had a part 2 birthday celebration
(As if one wasn’t enough for her self absorbed ass)
and me and the girls headed to Playhouse in Hollywood
for the best Persian experience of our lives.
;)
2 shot of lukewarm bacardi to preparty,
1 shot of cheap vodka for the road,
1 cranvodka for the buzz,
and 1 adios for the final farewell
turns THIS into THAT.
Then, for the obligatory drunk meal of the night:
the tastiest half mushroom, half cheese pizza
I have ever tasted in my entire life.
Too bad it came with the nastiest tap water
I have ever tasted in my entire life.
Happy birthday Sahar
again, and again, and again.

Im not a glass half empty or half full person,
I think everyone is born with a full glass, perhaps overflowing for some
But there is a straw, and during your life people come along and take sips,
Sometimes big gulps, and in the end all you have to show for your life is a glass that has a lot less than it did to begin with, some people have enough left in them to get refills
But the majority of us do not.

We hauled ass to Burbank since we were supposed to watch a screening of Valentine’s Day. But we were late, so we didn’t make the cut.
Check out the ridiculous cast: Taylor Lautner, Jessica Alba, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel, Ashton Kutcher, Julia Roberts, Emma Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, Topher Grace, Joe Jonas, Eric Dane, Queen Latifah, Christine Lakin, George Lopez…. etc.
It’s like Love Actually and He’s just not that into you
on crack.
Too bad we missed it.
But anyways.
We instead had sushi at Kabuki in Burbank.
Does this make your mouth water?!
Rainbow rolls, Tempura California roll, and BSCR roll.
Then we continued our shit talking at Boba Loca and some yogurt place.
I seriously missss these girls. They’re a huge reason why I stayed at Bubba’s for as long as I did.

so Sahar’s 22nd birthday was a double whammy for me.
Troy High ‘06 Reunion… errr what?
It was so refreshing to see these hooligans again. A small portion of the night made me miss high school. But then I remembered zero period classes and IB orals and I became content with me life again. But according to Kartick and everyone else in the world, Neil Wali will never forgive me for getting him in trouble with Hufferd by graciously giving him a cookie in class.
Pitstops at FatBurger and Diddy Riese

Although there’s one right next to my house, I forget how good fatburger’s skinny fries are.
Baby Fat + Skinny Fries = Nearly Perfect Drunk Meal
I say “nearly” perfect because it wasn’t complete without Diddy Riese
No no, it’s not JUST an ice cream sandwich. It’s THE ice cream sandwich. I’m in love with Diddy Riese not only because it’s so good, but the line goes really really fast and the prices are unbeatable. It’s not like some overhyped Sprinkles that cost an arm and a leg for a plain cupcake.
Chocolate Chip with Walnuts with Cookies & Cream Ice Cream
is my recommendation.
But as good as the food indulgences were, nothing was more satisfying than indulging myself in friends. (Please note that the above picture was a real candid and nothing staged). We’ve all become so busy in our own lives, but I’m glad that we’re always able to pick up where we left off. I’m sure that the shots of patron had a little something to do with that.
Happy Birthday
my favorite half Persian half Filipino.

Last minute, a friend invited me to a Clippers Game and who am I to turn down basketball?
(Even if it’s just the Clippers)
WE helped the Clippers finally pull a win(1-4),
so Baron Davis is going thank me later
by shaving that monster on his chin.

Thanks Mel :)
I misschuuu guys.
